Join us for Swing Jazz Wednesday at The Argo, a new weekly tradition bringing live swing to Milwaukee's North Shore — one band, one night, every Wednesday.
Sweet Sheiks conjure up the finest sounds of early jazz with a modern twist, paying tribute to the sultry speakeasy tunes of the ‘teens and twenties. Jen Lauren haunting vocals evoke a bygone era of diva songbirds, becoming all the more intriguing when she picks up her musical saw. Filled out by violin, clarinet, tuba, and tenor banjo, the band’s classic New Orleans sound is in full swing.
Swing Jazz Wednesdays are casual, welcoming, and all about the music. Come as you are, grab a seat and listen, or dance the night away. Join us for free swing dance lessons starting at 6:00 PM! Whether you’re a total beginner or just want to brush up your moves, this is the perfect chance to get into the rhythm before the show. Come early, learn something new, and hit the dance floor with confidence!
Doors at 6:00pm. Music at 7:00pm. Full bar service will be available throughout the event, with the kitchen being open 4-close.

Free Trivia Night: Friends

In Ensenada, Mexico, where the Pacific horizon cuts a clean, unwavering line, Holy Wave recorded their latest full-length, i’m DADA, a record that feels both expansive and newly concentrated for the subterranean pop four-piece. Stepping outside the United States was less a retreat than a shift in perspective, creating distance to recognize a new sound that had been slowly taking shape among them. i’m DADA quickly revealed its character: more propulsive, more candid, and their most structurally deliberate work to date.

Line Dancing Night w/ Redd's Line Up

The Verve Pipe has spent the better part of three decades in evolution, creating a sound that transcends genre and generation.

The Verve Pipe w/ Edie Current

During a pit stop while traveling between shows in 2023, Pinkshift found a huge fallen redwood tree. The three of them, vocalist Ashrita Kumar (they/them), guitarist Paul Vallejo (he/him) and drummer Myron Houngbedji (he/him), lay down on the trunk, staring up at the canopy of leaves from the trees around them. What followed is an experience Kumar describes as almost psychedelic. They felt as if the trees were inviting them to stay there forever. “I heard these voices telling me that I’m welcome here,” they recall, “and everything I could ever want is in this space.”
